Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former ally of Donald Trump, broke further from the president Wednesday in a scathing tirade against his war in Iran, calling for the GOP to be “burned to the ground.”
“We have to be realistic about the Republican Party. The Republican Party needs burned to the ground,” Greene told far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his show. “It’s completely controlled — as a matter of fact, much of Congress is controlled by AIPAC and by Zionists, and that is a serious problem.”
Greene’s remarks come amid growing backlash from a handful of prominent MAGA figures, including Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly, over the United States’ relationship with Israel in the wake of the joint bombing campaign against Iran.
The former Georgia congresswoman, who recently called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked to remove Trump from power, told Jones the president is “not mentally stable.”
“I loved President Trump, and I loved everything that he had promised to the American people in 2024, but this has been a complete 180,” Greene said. “MAGA went from being ‘America First’ to now it’s America last.”
