Three persons were arrested in connection with the theft of gas cylinders and a motor from a house in Korukkupet. Two juveniles were also apprehended.
The police said Jayachithra, 39, of Manali, had been renovating her parents’ house in Bharathi Nagar after they passed away last month due to ill health. She locked the house on March 28. When she returned on April 7, she found the rear lock broken and two gas cylinders, along with a motor kept inside the house, stolen.
Based on her complaint, the R.K. Nagar police arrested three accused — Shanmugam, 22, and Stephen, alias Venkatesan, 19, of Meenambal Nagar in Korukkupet; and Jagan, 19, of Royapuram. The police also questioned two 16-year-old juveniles involved in the case.
