A "Today" show reunion is officially on the books.
Hoda Kotb is set to temporarily return to the NBC morning show and cohost with Savannah Guthrie starting on Monday, April 13, filling in for regular anchor Craig Melvin. Guthrie shared the programming note on April 9, announcing that Melvin is taking a "very well-deserved vacation" after "holding it down here for a long time."
"Monday, we're going to try a new host here: Her name is Hoda, and she's going to fill in for you next week," Guthrie joked, addressing Melvin. "So that will be fun."
This will be a reunion between Guthrie and Kotb, who coanchored the "Today" show together for seven years until Kotb left her role in January 2025. In February, Kotb returned to "Today" to fill in for Guthrie, who stepped away to deal with the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
"I was walking through the airport yesterday, I was just flying back here. The number of people who came up and said, one thing they kept repeating, which just struck me is, 'She's like all of our moms. She's like all of our moms. Tell her we're praying. Tell her we're here,'" Kotb said on "Today" in February, reflecting on the public support for Guthrie amid the search for her mom. "And I think that's so important. It's touched everybody."
