A family of 14 from Ravindranath Tagore Nagar in Bengaluru was on a picnic to the park on the banks of the tank.
When 12-year-old Mohammad Hayat began drowning in the lake, 32-year-old Haidar Pasha and 35-year-old Abdul Khuddus tried to rescue him.
While Mohammad Hayat and Haidar Pasha died on the spot, Abdul Khuddus died on the way to hospital.
