Addressing the meeting, Mr. Singh directed all departments to maintain a strong focus on preparedness, coordination and resilience to effectively deal with any emerging situation. He said the government is ensuring an uninterrupted availability of LPG, petrol, diesel and fertilizers, while maintaining supplies of essential commodities under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The group was informed that India has facilitated the evacuation of the highest number of vessels from the Strait of Hormuz over the past 40 days. Eight LPG vessels carrying around 340,000 metric tonnes—equivalent to nearly 11 days of India’s import requirement—have safely transited, strengthening energy security. Domestic LPG supply remains stable, with no reported shortages.
