Todd Blanche made the news during his first press conference since Donald Trump selected him to replace Pam Bondi as acting attorney general.Blanche, who previously served as Trump’s personal attorney, also managed to gross out a lot of people on social media for one particular comment.During Tuesday’s press gaggle, Blanche admitted that no one but Trump knows why Bondi was canned, and declared that his fearless leader has the “right” and “duty” to have his enemies investigated, “using all of the resources we can.”But it was Blanche’s response to a question on whether he’d want to be appointed AG full time that left a lot of people on social media gagging in a metaphorical sense.“If President Trump chooses to keep me as acting, that’s an honor,” Blanche said. “If he chooses to nominate me, that’s an honor. If he chooses to nominate somebody else and I go back to being the DAG, that’s an honor.”Blanche then reiterated if Trump chooses to nominate somebody else for the attorney general gig, he will say, “Thank you very much. I love you, sir.”Yes, there’s video. Thanks for asking.Acting AG Todd Blanche: "I love working for President Trump. It's the greatest honor of a lifetime. And if President Trump chooses to nominate somebody else and asks me to go do something else, I'll say, 'Thank you very much, I love you, sir.'" pic.twitter.com/DXtQOVCRDG— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 7, 2026It’s one thing to respect and support your boss, but many people thought Blanche’s use of the “L” word in connection with the president was kinda creepy ― and also kinda gross.Showing my age by saying the first thought I had was, “Gag me with a spoon.” I’m really not sure how people like this don’t live in a state of perpetual shame and embarrassment. https://t.co/FFBQ9MRygw— Jennifer Erin Valent 🇺🇸🇺🇦 (@JenniferEValent) April 7, 2026The homoerotic is strong with these guys. They are so in love with each other… the more depraved morally, the deeper the love, apparently. https://t.co/v4cE0b0Mox— Branislav Slantchev (@slantchev) April 7, 2026Close
