The government has no plans to ration fuel amid the economic fall-out of the Iran war, Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday.

"There is no plan under consideration for fuel rationing, nor for the closure of schools, offices, factories, and shops," right-wing League leader Salvini said at a press conference at the Foreign Press Club in Rome on the topic of energy costs.

Is fuel rationing ruled out, he was asked? "Yes, I don't even want to consider it right now," Salvini replied.
