The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested two alleged suppliers linked to a transnational arms trafficking and terror syndicate, officials said on Sunday.
Imran (37) and Kamran (27) were apprehended at Indira Gandhi International Airport on April 2 following the issuance of Look Out Circulars against them.
Earlier, 10 other accused had been arrested in the case, and 21 firearms, including a submachine gun, along with 200 live cartridges, were recovered. Based on the findings, sections 15, 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) were invoked on March 31, 2026.
“Imran, who runs a dairy in Sikandrabad, Uttar Pradesh, is the brother-in-law of Shahbaz Ansari, the alleged kingpin of the module, while Kamran, employed at a bangle shop in Bulandshahr, is Ansari‘s cousin,” informed a senior police officer.
Investigators said the accused frequently travelled to Nepal to procure consignments of illegal firearms routed through cross-border channels. The weapons were transported in dismantled form to evade detection, often concealed in specially modified cavities in vehicles.
