The Delhi Police on Saturday said they had averted a potential gang war with the arrest of two alleged sharpshooters and the apprehension of a 17-year-old linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang.Two sophisticated pistols and 27 live cartridges were recovered from the accused, the police said.The arrests were made on Friday during routine patrolling near the main road at Bengali Market in Pooth Khurd. Investigation revealed that the accused were allegedly acting on the instructions of Nitin, alias Vicky Haddal, a close associate of jailed gangster Himanshu Bhau, according to the police.Police said the three suspects behaved suspiciously and attempted to flee on spotting the team. After a brief chase, they were intercepted and apprehended.Ajay (22), a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, was allegedly carrying a 7.62-calibre pistol and 18 cartridges. Kanhaiya Kumar (22), a resident of Pooth Khurd, was found with a 7.65-calibre pistol and three cartridges. Additional ammunition was recovered from the juvenile.The accused had allegedly been monitoring a resident of Pooth Khurd village and were on their way to carry out a targeted attack when they were apprehended, the police said.A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
