DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait said Monday their air defenses were actively engaging a fresh wave of Iranian missiles and drones, as Gulf states braced for another day of strikes targeting their territory.

The UAE defense ministry said air defense systems were “actively engaging with missiles and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) threats,” adding that sounds heard across the country were the result of ongoing interception operations.

Abu ​Dhabi authorities said ​they responded to an incident of ‌falling ‌debris ​on ‌the ⁠Raneen ​Systems company in ⁠the Musaffah industrial area ⁠after ‌a successful interception. ‌The debris resulted in moderate injuries ‌to a Ghanaian national, ⁠the ⁠Abu Dhabi Media Office said.

In ​Fujairah, authorities ‌said ​they ‌are ⁠responding ​to an incident ⁠after a drone approached from ⁠Iran ‌toward ‌the building ​of telecommunications ‌company ‌du, adding no injuries have ‌been reported.

Kuwait’s health ministry said that six individuals suffered injuries, including superficial wounds, temporary auditory effects and fall-related cases, after projectiles and shrapnel fell in one of the residential areas north of the country.
