A total of 308 motorists were booked by Hyderabad Traffic Police during a special enforcement drive conducted on Friday (April 2, 2026) to curb the use of mobile phones while driving.

Officials said 262 of those caught were two-wheeler riders, while three were three-wheeler drivers and 43 were drivers of four-wheelers and other vehicles.

Police said the drive was aimed at addressing the risks associated with distracted driving, which reduces reaction time and impairs judgement, increasing the likelihood of accidents.

Hyderabad Traffic Police said a zero-tolerance approach is being adopted towards such violations and that similar enforcement drives will continue to be carried out regularly.
