April 2 (UPI) -- The U.S. military struck Iran's largest bridge Thursday, killing at least 8 people and injuring 95 in what defense officials said would disrupt a planned military supply route.
President Donald Trump shared a video of the destruction of the B1 bridge in Karaj, a city in northern Iran, on Truth Social. The video appears to show a gap in the bridge after the blasts.
The attack also damaged a nearby industrial facility.
"The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again -- Much more to follow," Trump said.
A U.S. military official told The Hill that the airstrike on the bridge connecting Tehran to Karaj, eliminated "a planned military supply route for sustaining Iran's ballistic missile and attack drone force."
