With campaigning for the West Bengal Assembly elections gaining momentum, the Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has deployed close to 50 State leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, to garner support for the party.
Mr. Majhi was present during the filing of nominations by BJP candidates from the Rampurhat, Hansan, Murarai and Nalhati Assembly constituencies on Thursday (April 2, 2026).

“Odisha Chief Minister is likely to make another eight to ten visits to West Bengal for campaigning and addressing public meetings,” said Bishnu Dash, one of the BJP’s coordinators for the West Bengal elections.
“Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with three MPs and seven MLAs from Odisha, is currently camping in West Bengal to help the party secure a historic victory in the neighbouring State,” he added.
