Hyderabad, which has around 18.62 lakh domestic LPG connections serviced by 69 distribution centres, continues to witness stable supply for household consumers. However, the Auto-LPG segment, largely managed by private operators, is facing pressure due to a decline in imports, said Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari on Wednesday.
The Collector was speaking at a district-level Energy Supply Monitoring Committee meeting where she reviewed the availability, stock levels and supply status of petrol, diesel and LPG with distributors and agency operators.
She noted that public anxiety had led to an increase in LPG bookings, with daily numbers exceeding the usual average. To address the situation, the Collector directed officials to augment supplies over the next 15 days to stabilise availability across the district.
Ms. Dasari said priority should be given to families with a single-cylinder connection, and second cylinders should be supplied only after ensuring that all households receive their minimum essential requirement.
