Hyderabad district administration authorities till date have registered 435 cases and seized 800 LPG cylinders from hotels and unauthorised users as part of an ongoing crackdown against the illegal diversion of domestic gas for commercial purposes.

Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari on Monday, March 30, said strict action would be taken against those creating rumours about LPG shortage, warning that punitive measures were inevitable against violators.

The Collector was speaking at a review meeting attended by officials from the Civil Supplies, Revenue and Police Departments. She said there was no shortage of LPG for domestic consumption and assured that sufficient supplies were available to meet household demand. To ensure compliance, special teams have been deployed for continuous field-level monitoring.

The collector also appealed to citizens to report any issues related to LPG supply through the toll-free number 1800 4250 0333 1967 or the Collectorate Control Room number 7416687878.
