Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has called a tender of ₹3,348.05 crore for the construction of the Bangalore Business Corridor (Peripheral Ring Road-1) Package-1, which extends from Tumkur Road to Bellary Road. It is a stretch of 19.80 km, inclusive of ten-year operation and maintenance on a design, build, operate and transfer mode.
The last date for the receipt of tenders is May 4, and the technical bid will be opened on May 6. However, the final bid will be opened on May 11. The peripheral ring road would be 23 km in length, of which only a 19.80 km stretch has been taken up for construction in package-1.
The Bengaluru Business Corridor Ltd. was incorporated to spearhead the Bengaluru Business Corridor project under the BDA.
Earlier, the BDA had decided to split the project into multiple packages and issue tenders for stretches as and when they achieve 80% of the land acquisition targets.
This road will begin from the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Madavara, and cut across Ballari Road next to Collins Aerospace Park at Venkatala, where a metro station is coming up on the new airport metro line.
