March 28 (UPI) -- Netflix has shared on social media a first look at X-Men and Black Bag alum Michael Fassbender as Joe Kennedy Sr. in the streaming service's upcoming series set in the 1930s.
"The new drama series, now in production, explores the lives, loves, rivalries and tragedies that shaped the most iconic dynasty in modern history," Netflix said in a statement.
The series will be based on the book, JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917-1956, written by Fredrik Logevall.
Sam Shaw is show-runner.
Casting for Joe's wife Rose and their nine children, which included Teddy, John and Robert, has not been announced yet.
