This decision reverses a pause in arrests that began in February after the High Court ruled the government's ban on the group unlawful. Arrests are resuming because the High Court's judgment will not take effect until the government's appeal against the ruling is heard, which is expected to take several months. Deputy Assistant Commissioner James Harman confirmed that supporting Palestine Action remains a criminal offence under the Terrorism Act while the proscription is still in place. Over 2,700 people have been arrested for allegedly supporting Palestine Action since its ban last year, with many trials currently on hold pending the outcome of the High Court appeal.
