Anthony Scaramucci, who served briefly in Donald Trump’s first administration, this week took one of the president’s favorite insults and turned it back at him and his most faithful MAGA supporters.

That’s the term “Trump derangement syndrome,” which the president often uses to dismiss his critics.

Journalist Don Lemon showed Scaramucci a clip of longtime Democratic strategist James Carville earlier this month, directing deeply personal insults at the president as he embraced the mock diagnosis.

“You’re right, I’ve got Trump derangement syndrome,” Carville declared. “I hate the motherfucker.”

But Scaramucci ― who infamously served Trump for just 10 days in 2017 ― defended Carville, saying those kinds of insults are effective in that they get under the president’s skin.
