White House communications director Steven Cheung lashed out Tuesday at award-winning journalist and former CBS News reporter Scott MacFarlane for joining progressive media company MeidasTouch.
“Every reporter who ‘leaves’ (more like fired from) their outlet always comes out as a deranged liberal. Every. Single. Damn. Time,” Cheung wrote on X. “Just goes to show how biased news media has become.”
MacFarlane exited CBS News earlier this month, noting it was his decision to leave. The network has been undergoing a rightward shift and staffing overhaul under the leadership of David Ellison, the CEO of parent company Paramount Skydance, who hand-picked CBS’s editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss.
MeidasTouch announced MacFarlane’s new position as its chief Washington correspondent on Monday.
MacFarlane celebrated his new role by telling followers in a video that he and his new network “share the same North Star of communicating that when you have news to break or something important to explain, just get to it.”
