To commemorate the 95th death anniversary of legendary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, the Progressive Democratic Students’ Organisation (PDSO) observed ‘Anti-Imperialism Day’ with various programmes across the city on Monday.

Members of the organisation gathered at the RK Beach Road to offer floral tributes at the statue of Bhagat Singh, followed by a memorial meet with students at the Andhra University Arts college.

Speaking on the occasion, PDSO district president P. Viswanath highlighted Bhagat Singh’s lifelong defiance against the British rule and his vision for a nation free from caste, religious, and economic disparities. He recounted the historical bravery of the trio who, despite being scheduled for execution on March 24, 1931, were hanged a day earlier by a colonial government fearful of their rising influence. Even at the gallows, their slogans of “Inquilab Zindabad” continued to inspire the masses.

PDSO District Secretary V. Lakshmi announced that a seminar would be held on Tuesday, March 24, at the Visakhapatnam Public Library to discuss the modern challenges of imperialism and global peace.
