Frello claims that the security guard spoke “extremely aggressively” to his daughter and threatened to file a complaint with the hotel. “My daughter got super scared and cried a lot,” Frello wrote.The soccer star concluded his statement to Roan, writing, “Without your fans you would be nobody. And to the fans, she does not deserve your affection.”Following the high-profile accusation, the online response was swift and severe. Miss Trunchbull from Roald Dahl’s Matilda proved a popular template, with many posting references to the terrifying teacher.Soon, a bizarre meme took shape, in which Roan, her security team and the young fan became locked in a series of ridiculous battles.The violent ending of horror hit Weapons repeatedly popped up as a reference clip for the controversy.Chappell Roan Responds To The Backlash On Social MediaWhile several fake responses from Roan spread through social media, Roan’s official response was captured on video and posted on her Instagram story.Roan told her side of the story through a series of posts, in which she explained that she was not aware of the situation, did not see the young girl approaching her table and clarified that she doesn’t “hate children.”Roan said that the aggressive guard was not part of her personal security detail and explained that she did not request that the girl be reprimanded, adding that it was “unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions.”Following Roan’s response, her fanbase breathed a sigh of relief, and continued cracking jokes about the situation.The drama was reheated after Frello’s wife, singer Catherine Harding, posted on Instagram to share her perspective, claiming that the offending guard was not part of the hotel security.“I don’t know if it was her personal security guard, but he was with [Chappell].
