Representatives of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) attended the National Defence Industry Conclave held recently at New Delhi, according to a release here on Saturday.

The event served as a premier platform for defence leaders, policymakers and MSMEs to collaborate on advancing India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. The HSL drew substantial interest from vendors and MSMEs nationwide, fostering high levels of engagement and identifying new strategic partnerships for both current and future maritime projects, the release added.

Capt. G. Venkateswarlu, chairperson and managing director of HSL, led a delegation of senior officials in active dialogue with industry stakeholders to strengthen the shipyard’s professional network. The team detailed HSL’s initiatives for expanding vendor participation and exploring collaborative opportunities.

Beyond the exhibition, HSL experts contributed to the conclave’s technical discourse. Commodore Rohit Gaur, Senior Chief Project Superintendent, addressed the critical areas of Defence MRO and Lifecycle Support, emphasising the vital role MSMEs play in these sectors.

General Manager Sadasiva Rao outlined opportunities for collaboration in modular construction, shipbuilding, refits and export platforms.
