Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is currently partly shut down as authorities investigate a bomb threat.
According to Eric Forest, a media relations advisor at Montreal Airports, one of the airfield's runways is closed, limiting the number of flights.
Travel "being handled at YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is currently limited following the discovery of a suspicious package on a landing flight, which is currently under investigation by law enforcement," Forest told USA TODAY in an emailed statement.
"One of the two runways is closed to ensure the security of the ongoing investigation, but the other runway remains operational," Forest said, calling it an "ongoing situation."
The Federal Aviation Administration in the United States shows that the ground stop at YUL is expected to last until at least 5:15 p.m. ET, meaning flights heading to Montreal will hold at their departure airport until the order is lifted.
