The Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru City Police, have arrested a key gun supplier from Madhya Pradesh.
The arrested accused has been identified as Syed Irfan Rizvi, 34, a civil engineer and a native of Bhopal. Police said he was allegedly running an illegal gun supply racket alongside his professional work.
According to the police, Irfan had supplied arms and ammunition to Javed Alam, 19, also from Bhopal. Javed, along with Syed Masood, 26, from Siddapura in Bengaluru, was arrested last month by the CCB.
Police said that on March 3, one of the suspects, who had been absconding and repeatedly failing to appear before the court, was tracked down and arrested at an apartment on Bannerghatta Road. Based on this arrest, officers recovered two country-made firearms and three live rounds.
