A three-year-old girl sustained severe head injuries after a man picked her up and violently slammed her to the ground following an argument with her mother at Jagadgirigutta. The child is currently fighting for her life at Osmania General Hospital.
According to the Jagadgirigutta Inspector B. Venkatesham, the incident involved Krishnaveni, a resident of Devender Nagar in Katta Maisamma Nagar, who has three children and has been living separately from her husband for some time. She had been staying with a man identified as Shiva.
Investigations revealed that Shiva was unemployed and frequently consumed alcohol, while Krishnaveni worked as a labourer to support the family. On Saturday, Shiva reportedly demanded money from her. When she refused, he returned home in an inebriated condition later in the day and began arguing with her.
During the altercation, Shiva picked up Krishnaveni’s younger daughter, Vennela, and in a fit of rage threw the child to the ground. The girl suffered serious injuries and lost consciousness.
She was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where she continues to receive treatment.
