Despite the Delhi government assuring people that the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrol, diesel, and piped natural gas across the national capital remains normal, a sense of panic continued to prevail with people lining up in large numbers outside gas agencies in the city on Friday amid the escalating conflict in West Asia.

The situation prompted the police to enhance security measures outside gas agencies to prevent untoward incidents involving distribution of LPG cylinders.

DCP (East) Rajeev Kumar, along with several other senior officers, held a meeting with LPG distributors and urged them to prevent black marketing or rumour-mongering and that law and order is maintained in the area.

“LPG distributors were advised to ensure fair supply, follow safety norms, maintain proper records, and immediately report any suspicious activity or illegal sale,” the DCP said.

Mr. Kumar added that vigilance has been heightened and patrolling enhanced in South East district. Police personnel have been deployed near gas agencies to keep an eye on miscreants.
