Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is set to attend on the morning of Tuesday, March 17, a conference marking the 30th Anniversary of the Central European Initiative (CEI) which will be held at the Generali Convention Centre in the northeastern Italian city of Trieste, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a note on Friday.
Later in the afternoon, the Generali Convention Centre in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia city will host the Forum of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC), which will also be attended by Tajani, the Farnesina added.
CEI's 30th Anniversary is organized by its Executive Secretariat, in cooperation with the Institute of International Affairs (IAI).
Celebrations will include a plenary session scheduled from 10:30 to 11:15 AM, with speeches by Tajani, CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas, the President of the Senate's Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, Senator Stefania Craxi, Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region Governor Massimiliano Fedriga, and IAI President, Ambassador Michele Valensise.
The event will continue with two thematic panels, respectively on strategic cooperation in Europe and on connectivity in CEI's geographical region of interest, with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and others in the process of being confirmed.
