Six Delhi BJP MPs discussed key civic and development issues with Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) Taranjit Singh Sandhu during a meeting on Thursday and assured him of full cooperation in taking forward the Capital’s growth agenda.

The MPs told The Hindu that they raised issues including implementation of the master plan of Delhi 2041, traffic management, sanitation, water supply and other civic concerns. Bansuri Swaraj, Yogendra Chandolia, Manoj Tiwari, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Praveen Khandelwal and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri attended the meeting. MP Harsh Malhotra could not join as he is on a visit to Bihar, Mr. Khandelwal said.

The MPs said they were unable to attend Mr. Sandhu’s oath-taking ceremony on Wednesday because of a parliamentary whip during the ongoing Budget Session of Parliament.

North West Delhi MP Chandolia said he asked the L-G to prioritise implementation of the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) land pooling policy, particularly for the development of Narela. “If the land pooling policy is implemented, it will be a crucial step towards Delhi’s development,” he said.
