The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (March 10, 2026) told the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) not to undertake demolition action until March 11 against two houses belonging to individuals allegedly involved in the Uttam Nagar Holi clash, which resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man.

“Tell them, between now 4 o’clock and 10.30 a.m. tomorrow when this matter is taken up, nothing should happen. List tomorrow,” said Justice Amit Bansal while dealing with petitions by Jarina, the mother of accused Imran, and Shahnaz, whose children were interrogated by the police in connection with the clash in the south-west Delhi area.

On March 8, the MCD demolished “illegal” portions of the residential structure linked to one of the accused in the death of Tarun Bhutolia during Holi celebrations in a clash between two neighbouring families with long-standing disputes.

Uttam Nagar clash: Seven more arrested

The Holi incident was allegedly triggered by a dispute over a water balloon thrown by a girl from one family that accidentally hit a woman from the other family. The situation quickly escalated as members of both families gathered on the street and exchanged blows, resulting in Tarun’s death.
