The Congress Government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy “lacks vision and has no mission for public welfare, but has been working only for commissions” over the last two-and-a-half years, alleged the Telangana BJP on Wednesday.
Party vice-president and former MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, addressing a media conference at the State office, wondered whether the Chief Minister’s authority was intact, given that he was “forced” to carry out 60 transfers of IAS and IPS officers so far during his tenure in an effort to put the administration on track.
“Such large-scale transfers at frequent intervals indicate a lack of stability in the administration,” he said. Mr. Prabhakar noted that Mr. Revanth Reddy recently announced a ‘99-day action plan’ directing district collectors to stay in villages for at least 10 days and interact with people.
“Does this mean these officials have not been visiting villages for the last two years? Have they not been meeting people directly? Is anyone even listening to the Chief Minister, given that he repeats the same instructions at every meeting?” he asked.
The former MLA charged the government of lacking direction as was also evident in its decision to first create a Greater Municipal Corporation for Hyderabad by merging peripheral villages, and then dividing the same area into three separate civic bodies. This, he argued, not only undermines the reservation process but also shows that the ruling dispensation lacks a strategic vision.
