Premier Giorgia Meloni will report to parliament on the war in Iran, Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said on Tuesday, adding that a cabinet meeting will also be held this week to discuss the conflict.
On Monday Meloni said the Iran war was a cause of great concern in a season of crisis born of the Ukraine war.
"I am concerned about the overall context: a crisis in international law that is inevitably the result of the war in Ukraine.
When a member of the United Nations Security Council deliberately attacked its neighbour, it was inevitable that it would lead to a season of chaos," Meloni said in an interview with Tg5.
Meloni called on Iran to halt its "unjustified" attacks in the Gulf, and said that the crisis must not spread.
