March 2 (UPI) -- It certainly was a great weekend for the old guys in weekend horse racing around the globe. Rebel's Romance in Dubai and Romantic Warrior in Hong Kong, both 8, scored impressive wins a world apart, and the latter's trainer is even talking about a 9-year-old campaign.

Most of the action came on Super Saturday in Dubai, amid hostilities that eventually closed the airspace over the Emirate, trapping owners, trainers, jockeys and some fans for an undetermined extra stay.

Romantic Warrior, winner of Group 1 and Grade 1 races all over the world, took a star turn in the Group 2 Dubai City of Gold Stakes in his first start since finishing second in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Del Mar in November.
