RIYADH: Saudi Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki announced Monday the interception and destruction of five hostile aerial drones near the Prince Sultan Air Base.

Earlier, al-Maliki confirmed that two drones attempting to target the Ras Tanura refinery near Dammam were intercepted successfully.

Al-Maliki confirmed that no civilian casualties were reported as a result of the interception, noting that a small fire broke out inside the refinery due to falling debris, but it was quickly brought under control.
