A major fire broke out at an industrial unit dealing in paint and chemicals near Red Hills on Monday (March 2, 2026). No casualties were reported; two employees working on the premises were immediately evacuated after the fire erupted.The private industrial unit, owned by a person named Prakash, is located at Maharaja Nagar, Vadakarai, near Red Hills. The incident occurred around 12.45 p.m. when the two workers were inside the facility. The other employees and local residents alerted Fire and Rescue Services personnel.Sources said panic gripped the locality after chemical barrels stored in the paint warehouse exploded, with debris scattering all over.Fire and Rescue Services personnel from the stations in Red Hills, Madhavaram, and Manali rushed to the spot and began firefighting operations.
