Eight persons, including a family of five, from Mangaluru, have sought help returning from Dubai where they are stranded following the conflict in West Asia.

As per information provided by State Disaster Management Authority, Shrinath P. Shetty, 41, called from Dubai to the Dakshina Kannada district emergency number on March 1 evening to inform that he is stranded, along with two family members Sadhika Shetty, 37, and Shiriya, 8. They had been to Dubai on a tourist visa, and were stranded in Deira. While informing that they were all safe, Mr. Shetty sought help of the district administration to return to Mangaluru.

On March 2, a resident of Surathkal near Mangaluru called saying his five family members are stranded in Dubai. He said Kasturi Sadashiva Pai, 65, Kasturi Sandhya Pai, 59, Kasturi Subrahmanya Pai, 27, Kattingeri Prathibha Nayak, 71, Shashank Shashidar Nayak, 32, were in Dubai on a tour. They were scheduled to return to Mangaluru on March 5. Following cancellation of flights, all the five were stranded in Dubai. He sought assistance for return of his relatives.
