A total of 82 persons were injured during the jallikattu organised at Malayadipatti near Manapparai in Tiruchi and at Kallapatti in Perambalur district on Saturday.At Malayadipatti, 778 bulls were released into the arena with 253 tamers participating. A total of 21 persons were injured, and four of them, three tamers and an owner, were referred to the government hospital. The remaining 17 persons were treated as outpatients at the venue.A total of 618 bulls were released during the event at Kallapatti in Perambalur with 290 men participating. Sixty-one persons — 28 owners, 18 tamers and 15 spectators — sustained injuries. Of them, three, a tamer, an owner and a spectator, were referred to government hospitals, while the others were provided treatment as outpatients at the venue, according to police sources.
