The Mangaluru City police carried out a thorough search at the Lourdes Central School in Mangaluru following receipt of a mail threatening an explosion, on February 26 morning. The threat turned out to be a hoax.According to police, the mail landed in the mail box of the school principal around 4 a.m. School authorities informed the nearby Mangaluru East police.Police rushed to the school with a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad around 10 a.m. They searched the entire premises. They went through footage of CCTV cameras in the school. The search was called off around 1 p.m. after the police concluded that the threat was a hoax, police stated.Ten days ago, an email was sent threatening explosion in courts in Mangaluru, Hubballi and two other places.
