The politics of the ultra-Orthodox are tumultuous and passionate; I've never found them interesting. Most Israelis don't have a clue about the difference between Agudat Yisrael and Degel Hatorah, the two parties comprising United Torah Judaism, between the Torah's sages and great scholars, between the "Lithuanians" and the Hasidim or between the ones wearing white socks and those wearing black ones. For the secular majority, they're all the same, making for boring politics. Now there's a new claimant for bearing the crown of most boring politics: opposition parties. Fifty shades of gray.
