The two narratives – of the governing coalition, its supporters in the media and hard-core Bibi-ists, and that of their opponents – will compete in the coming months in a life-and-death struggle. An old myth is being rewritten: Who is the David and who the Goliath?
The image that servants of the regime want etched in memory is that of Mordechai David against Goliath or, as Channel 14 News' Shimon Riklin wrote, Aharon Barak "didn't find a Moroccan until he met Mordechai David." Riklin was referring, of course, to the former Supreme Court president's reply some years ago when asked why there were no Mizrahi justices: "Find me a Moroccan and I'll put him here."
