MILAN — The U.S. women’s national hockey team is one win away from the gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Sweden stands in their way and is looking to player spoiler yet again.
The U.S. women’s national hockey team has played in all but one gold medal game since the women’s program made its Olympic debut in 1998. They only missed the championship match was at the 2006 Turin Games, when Sweden defeated USA 3-2 in a semifinal shootout to make the nation’s first and only gold medal appearance.
Five-time Olympian Hilary Knight is one point and one goal away from setting the all-time U.S. Olympic records in those categories.
