President Donald Trump on Wednesday finally delivered an apology ― but it was not the one many had called on him to make.

Trump last week shared a racist video depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes, which was denounced by Democrats and Republicans alike.

But that’s not what he apologized for.

Trump deleted the video, but insisted he didn’t have to apologize since he didn’t actually see the racist part.

“No, I didn’t make a mistake,” he said last week. “I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine.”
