Plane Crash During Emotional Olympics DebutTeam USA's Maxim Naumov made an emotional Olympic debut on Tuesday where he paid tribute to his parents, who were killed in the mid-air collision over the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., last year.Following the tragic collision, Naumov has displayed photographs of his parents, Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova, in the kiss and cry area as he's awaited marks at competitions leading up to this year's Milan Cortina Games.The 24-year-old did the same following his performance to Chopin's "Nocturne No. 20" in the men's short program.Maxim Naumov teared up as he held the snap showing him as a child holding hands on the ice with his late parents, both of whom were figure skaters for Russia and were 1994 world champions in pairs.Both parents were among the dozens of members of the figure skating community who were aboard American Airlines Flight 5342 during the deadly crash."We did it," said the Olympian, who earned a season-best score of 85.65, in the direction of the photograph.When Naumov finished his performance, the video board at Milano Ice Skating Arena displayed a message alongside his picture that read, "Mom and Dad, this is for you."See All UpdatesClose
