MILAN — The figure skating team event at the 2026 Winter Games concludes today with the free dance for the pairs, men and women.

For the U.S., the "Quad God" Ilia Malinin, who is the gold medal favorite in the men's singles competition, is skating the men's free dance. This comes one day after a bit of a scruffy outing for the 21-year-old in his short program of the team competition, in which he finished second behind Japan's Yuma Kagiyama. For the women's free skate, U.S. national champion Amber Glenn is taking on those duties, making the 26-year-old's Olympic debut. In the pairs session, Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea are performing their free skate.

The U.S. entered the day leading the team standings with 44 points, but Japan (39 points) is on the heels of the Americans, as well as Italy (37 points), Canada (35 points) and Georgia (32 points).
