Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy turned the heat on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of shielding BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao in alleged corruption cases.

Mr. Reddy alleged massive corruption in the Kaleshwaram project and said lakhs of crores had been wasted. He questioned the BJP leadership on why no action had been taken despite referring the matter to the CBI and demanded clarity on when KCR and former minister T. Harish Rao would be arrested.

Addressing a public meeting in Nizamabad on Friday, he alleged that BJP and BRS were politically aligned and urged voters not to “waste their votes” on either. Targeting BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind, he questioned his failure to secure Smart City status or an airport for Nizamabad. “Is the Prime Minister required even to clean drains in Nizamabad’s lanes?” he asked, alleging that BJP leaders were seeking votes without delivering tangible development.

Cong. flag

Mr. Reddy asserted that the Congress party would soon hoist its flag in the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation as well as in seven municipalities of the district, signalling a decisive political shift. The district, known for its rich history and agricultural legacy, deserved transparent governance and inclusive development, and the Congress would provide it.
