Monitoring Officer for Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll of Kanniyakumari district R. Lalitha reviewed the exercise completed so far in the six Assembly constituencies of the district on Tuesday.
Apart from District Collector and District Electoral Officer R. Alagumeena, the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers of all Assembly segments in the district and the tahsildars participated in the review meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Ms. Lalitha said that the Returning Officers and the Assistant Returning Officers of all six Assembly constituencies in the district should ensure the inclusion of names of VIPs living in each constituency in the respective draft electoral roll.
Moreover, all eligible voters above the age of 18 should be included in the voters’ list. Form 7 received for deletion of voters should be verified through field visits before deleting the names, said Ms. Lalitha, who checked the addition and deletion of voters of Otraiyaalvilai village under Kanniyakumari Assembly constituency.
