The State Transport Department on Tuesday (February 03, 2026) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) for the automation of driving test tracks at four Regional Transport Office (RTO) locations in the State.

The MoA was signed between Transport Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha and head of MSIL (CSR) Tarun Agarwal and senior officials of the company.

In a statement, the Transport Commissioner said that the project is being implemented as part of MSIL’s CSR initiative, with the objective of improving road safety by making the driving licence testing process more efficient, transparent, and standardised through the use of technology.

The automated driving test tracks will be established at the RTOs in Eluru, Ongole, Vizianagaram, and Anakapalli.

The MSIL will extend support by providing technology and in the areas of integration with the SARATHI system, training of personnel and routine maintenance for a period of three years. The Transport Department, on its part, will provide the required infrastructure at the existing driving test tracks, undertake civil works, ensure security and electricity supply and conduct driving tests and issuance of driving licences using the automated system, said Mr. Sinha.
