U.S. Treasury yields held steady on Tuesday as investors digested news that the United States and India have reached a trade deal.

As of 3:52 a.m. ET, the 10-year Treasury yield was less than 1 basis point higher at 4.279%. The 2-year Treasury was also less than 1 basis point higher at 3.578%, as was the 30-year Treasury at 4.913%.

One basis point equals 0.01%, and yields and prices move in opposite directions.

The U.S. and India will immediately move to lower tariffs on each other’s goods, President Donald Trump announced Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also agreed to buy American products “at a much higher level” as part of the agreement, Trump said in a Truth Social post following a call with the Indian leader.

Modi additionally committed to “stop buying Russian Oil, and to buy much more from the United States and, potentially, Venezuela,” Trump said in the post.
