Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has refuted the Bharat Rashtra Samiti’s charge that the State Government is adopting a vindictive attitude towards Opposition leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the Government was firm on providing transparent and democratic governance and it was not indulging in any vindictive steps. “Our motto is to ensure utmost transparency and democratic governance,” he said. He was responding to queries at a press conference here on Sunday evening about the BRS president’s charge that Supreme Court directions were set aside in summoning him for inquiry into the phone tapping case.

He said it was not proper for him to comment on the ongoing inquiry as it could be construed as “influencing the probe”. Phone tapping was a serious charge as it was the tool used for ensuring national security not for invading into the privacy of others. “There are complaints that privacy of the persons is violated. Let the inquiry be completed,” he said.
