The Forest Department arrested six persons from the outskirts of Rapur in SPSR Nellore district on Friday night while they were illegally transporting pangolin, a rare mammal, to Chennai. District Forest Officer (DFO) Mahaboob Basha said four of the arrested are from Nellore district, one from Kadapa and another from Tirupati district. “The pangolin was safely released into the wild. Further investigation is on,” he said.
